Combat Items

There is a large array of items that can be used in combat. Let's try to cover the basics.
Quick Facts
- There are three different attacking styles: Physical DMG, Wizardy DMG, or Curse DMG.
- There are five items that make up an Armor Set: Helm, Armor, Pants, Gloves, and Boots.
- Most characters use a weapon and an off-hand item, such as a shield or quiver, and some characters have the ability to wield two weapons at the same time.
- Characters can equip two Ring items, which provide defensive-type additional options.
- Characters can equip one Necklace item, which provide offensive-type additional options.
- Characters can equip one Pet item, which give additional bonuses and visually appear on the screen when equipped.
- Some characters can equip Wings while other characters can equip Cape items. Both increase damage by a percentage (%), absorb incoming damage by a percentage (%), and greatly increase movement speed!
- Characters can equip two Earring items, which provide both offensive-type and defensive-type additional options.
- Pentagrams are essential to progressing in the game. Once equipped, characters can deal Elemental DMG and defend against elemental monster attacks. All new characters get a free Pentagram when they create the character, called the Pentagram For Beginners. Although there isn't much purpose for it initially, you'll want to focus on getting a good Pentagram item before you hit level 300.
Item Durability
Most equipment items have durability which will decrease over time from combat. An item breaks if it reaches zero durability, meaning the item will only provide 20% of its properties. You can repair most items even after it becomes zero durability, however some items you cannot repair once they reach zero durability!
- Any character can repair item Durability for a Zen fee.
- Use the Repair Hammer from Character Inventory to repair Durability.
- Repair Hammer hot-key: L
- Some NPCs offer item Repair feature, which is 50% cheaper than using Repair Hammer:
- Durability decreases faster from large amounts of damage and upon death.
+Item Level
Most equipment items can have their +Item Level increased. Increasing +Item Level will improve the equipment's damage or defense!
- You can upgrade items via Chaos Goblin Machine.
- Almost all items can have their +Item Level enhanced up to +15.
- A Jewel of Bless can enhance +Item Level up to +6 with 100% Success Rate.
- A Jewel of Soul can enhance +Item Level up to +9, with varied Success Rates (about 50% chance).
- Upgrading +Item Level past +9 requires multiple jewels and has lower Success Rates. Check the Chaos Goblin Machine guide for more details.
- Upgrade +Item Level up to +6
- 100% Success Rate
- Upgrade +Item Level up to +9
- 40% ~ 60% Success Rate
- If the upgrade fails:
- Item +0: +Item Level remains +0
- Item +1 ~ +6: +Item Level decreases by 1
- Item +7 ~ +8: +Item Level becomes +0
+Luck Option
+Luck is bound to items only on a chance basis. +Luck only appears when items are dropped by monsters or crafted.
- +Luck consists of two +Additional Options being bound to an item:
- Critical Damage Chance +5%
- +25% Jewel of Soul rate
- "Jewel of Soul rate" increases the success rate of upgrading the item's level with Jewel of Soul, or when using the item in any crafting recipe which uses Jewel of Soul.
+Jewel of Life Option
A Jewel of Life can be used on items to add +Additional Options. Simply drag and drop a Jewel of Life onto an item to upgrade it!
- Can be applied via Jewel of Life.
- Cannot be applied to Accessory Items, Pentagrams, Errtel, Mounts, Pets, Seed Spheres, or Muun.
- Using Jewel of Life on an item will bind +Jewel of Life Option with a 50% chance.
- Using additional Jewel of Life on an item will upgrade +Jewel of Life Option with a 50% chance.
- +Jewel of Life Option can be upgraded up to Tier 4.
- If the upgrade fails, then the +Jewel of Life Option is removed from the item.
- If +Jewel of Life Option reaches Tier 4, it is impossible to remove the option from the item.
- Wing and Cape items may have one of three possible +Jewel of Life Options, on a chance basis.
- Adding +Jewel of Life Option increases an item's strength requirement by +5 STR per Option Level. For example, an item with level 4 +Jewel of Life Option will require +20 STR to equip it.
