Two rings are worn to boost your character defensively. These items are most notably useful for their 'Automatic HP Recovery' ability, among other additional options that they can have. Rings can be used by all character classes, however rings have a character level requirement to be able to equip them.

When dropped by monsters, 'normal' grade rings can have an item level up to +4 randomly. The item level cannot be increased in any way, and it is only generated when dropped by monsters.
'Protection Ring,' 'Ring of Ultimatum,' and 'Protector Protection Ring' can only have an item level up to +3.
'Excellent' grade rings cannot have an item level greater than +0.
You can obtain these items mostly from killing monsters or through NPC Moss...

Skill effect resistance... #
Element Resistance is a quirky, undocumented, and out dated system from the initial release of MU Online. So take this info 'with a grain of salt.' Essentially, some monster skills cause a 'skill effect' to the player when attacking. An example of a 'skill effect' is when your character slides on the ground when a Thunder Lich monster attacks. This type of 'skill effect' could be ignored via Lightning Resistance!
*most notably, you can resist the knock-back effect from monsters in Chaos Castle with Fire Resistance!
- Element Resistance protects a character from 'skill effects'.
- Skills cause certain effects depending on their type:
- Earth, Fire, Lightning, Wind, Water: causes Knock-back.
- Ice: causes Movement Speed debuff.
- Poison: causes Poison DMG DOT.
- Element Resistance formula:
- (Element Resistance * 10) = % Chance of Resistance
- If multiple items with Element Resistance are equipped, only the item with the greatest effect is applied.
- Necklace of Fire +4 = Fire Resistance of 5
- (5 * 10) = % chance of resistance
- = 50% chance of resistance
- If a Necklace of Fire +4 is equipped with a Ring of Fire +4, the chance of resisting the skill effect is still only 50%.
